Elections are not so clean and transparent as you seem to imply in the US. The rules of the games may be different, but political games are played in US too just like India. Please read Hillary's autobiography where she highlights how Bill's political advisors indicated that Hillary should keep a low profile(read smiling, waving, kissing babies) in his Governor's campaign. You see, Americans still can't handle strong women in high posts. I have my own doubts about Hillary winning.<BR/><BR/>That aside, I don't understand why you call it shameful that Indian CM-wives don't give speeches.
